Wild Side By Cassie-Ann L. Miller
The Wild Side by Cassie-Ann L. Miller cover
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
There are times when I want a book that completely destroys me emotionally, keeps me guessing until 2 a.m., or has me questioning every decision a character makes.
And then there are times when I just want a good, feel-good romance that lets me curl up, relax, and enjoy the ride.
The Wild Side by Cassie-Ann L. Miller was exactly that kind of book for me.
This was such a fun, cozy small-town romance with that slightly cheesy rom-com feeling that I personally love when I'm in the mood for something lighter. It wasn't trying to completely reinvent romance or leave me emotionally traumatized for the next three business days—and honestly? Sometimes that's exactly what I need from a book.
One of my favorite things about The Wild Side was the friends-to-lovers aspect. There's something about watching two people who already have a genuine connection slowly cross that line into oh...wait...there might be something more happening here that gets me every single time.
Because that friendship is already there, the romance feels comfortable and familiar while still giving you all those little moments you're waiting for.
And then you add in the small-town setting, and I'm sold.
I love romances where the setting feels like part of the story rather than just somewhere the characters happen to live. There's a certain coziness that comes with small-town romance—the familiar faces, close-knit community, and feeling that everybody probably knows everybody else's business whether they want them to or not. 😂
It gave the whole book that warm, easygoing feeling that made it really enjoyable to read.
✦What I Loved✦
What worked most for me was simply how fun this book was.
Not every five-star read has to completely change your life.
Sometimes five stars means:
I had a ridiculously good time reading this.
And that's where The Wild Side landed for me.
The chemistry was cute, the romance was satisfying, and the story had enough humor and heart to keep me invested. I could just settle into the story without having to work for it, which made this the perfect palate cleanser between some of the heavier fantasy and romance books I tend to read.
Was it a little cheesy sometimes?
Yep.
Did that make me enjoy it less?
Absolutely not.
If anything, that's part of its charm.
✦Who I'd Recommend It To✦
If you're someone who loves friends-to-lovers, small-town romance, feel-good rom-coms, good chemistry, cozy vibes, and stories that don't take themselves too seriously, I think this one is worth picking up.
Especially if you've been reading heavier books lately and need something that simply makes reading feel fun again.
✦Final Thoughts✦
The Wild Side wasn't a book I loved because it was complicated.
I loved it because it wasn't.
It gave me a sweet romance, characters I enjoyed spending time with, small-town charm, plenty of feel-good moments, and that comforting rom-com cheesiness that sometimes just hits the spot.
I finished it feeling happy—and sometimes that's the best thing I can ask for from a romance.
⭐ 5/5 stars from me.
Would I recommend it? Definitely.
Would I pick up another Cassie-Ann L. Miller book after this one?
Also definitely.
Give me a cozy small town, two friends catching feelings, and a little romantic chaos, and apparently I'm pretty easy to please. 😂
